Gerber maneuvered the digital supply chain at Texprocess

19-06-2018

Gerber Technology has demonstrated Industry 4.0 with Digital Supply Chain at the Texprocess Americas exhibition held between 22-24 May 2018. To demonstrate how Gerber is empowering Industry 4.0, the company exhibits two workflows that are fully integrated into the apparel industry. The company offers industry-leading software and automation solutions.

The large-scale production process, in collaboration with Korrnit Digital and Henderson Sewing Machine Company, will showcase a full-scale, on-demand microprocessor with 3D simulations, Vision-aided cutting, digital printing directly onto garments and robots for shipping and sewing. The concept highlights how data management, connectivity, and automation can be produced that are triggered by the purchase, and redefine the concept of production at the right time.

Textile, fashion and apparel diversity means that different supply chains require different approaches. Some require large amounts of production with speed and efficiency in large quantities, while others require small batches or small batch production to speed up and optimize inventory. Gerber has been supporting these solutions with the design connected to the cloud and cutting room technology for over ten years.

"Our customers are paving the way, taking advantage of the benefits of our cloud-based digital solutions," said Karsten Newbury, senior vice president of software solutions at Gerber Technology. With the industry's leading AccuMark Platform 2D and 3D applications, the data is smoothly transferred to Intelligent Cutting Room solutions, all backed by GERBERconnect. We create amazing agility in our customers' manufacturing processes, which is very important in winning the "on-demand economy" today.
