On June 27th, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), organized the 4th Textile Technology Conference - 2018. "Accelerate and Innovate", with the participation of more than 200 delegates from more than 100 garment enterprises.
Korea is one of the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) countries in Vietnam, especially in the textile and garment sector. 2017 is the year South Korea topped the list of countries with many investment projects in the textile industry of Vietnam: 44 projects, with a total registered capital of 178.16 million USD.
Speaking at the ceremony, VIRAS President Vu Duc Giang said, "The 4th Textile Technology Conference - 2018, with the theme" Accelerate and Innovate ", focuses on introducing trends. Functional fabric, construction proposals, intelligent building of garment factories as well as intelligent storage systems for textile mills. From that, contributing to create a foundation for accelerating the strategy of sustainable development of textile industry in Vietnam, as well as continue to affirm the sustainable relationship between VITAS and KITECH.
According to Jiang, the fourth industrial revolution is impacting on key industries, especially in the textile and garment industry. However, the adaptation and utilization of the opportunities offered by the 4.0 technology in Vietnam's textile and apparel industry is still very low. This is also the main reason VITAS is collaborating with KITECH to organize this workshop to provide a comprehensive overview of the digital transformation method in fashion design, the application of 3D design to increase productivity. and increase communication efficiency.
Mr. Ahn Seong Ho, Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, said: "Vietnam and Korea have achieved many achievements in economic cooperation recently. Export turnover between the two countries increased more than 20% per year, reaching the milestone of 64 billion USD in 2017. This workshop will be an opportunity for enterprises of the two countries to cooperate more deeply in technology to textile industry. more sustainable development in the future ".
