Vietnamese enterprises have difficulty in taking advantage of trade agreements

24-10-2017

On August 2nd, the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) organized a seminar on "Taking Advantage of Free Trade Agreements - FTAs - Vietnam's participation in textile and garment industry" in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, the rate of taking advantage of the FTAs of Vietnamese enterprises is still quite low. For example, through the C / O to receive preferential treatment, this ratio will only reach about 55.6% in 2015 and reach 57.2% in 2016.

The main reason, according to the textile and garment enterprises, is that it is difficult to meet the requirements to enjoy preferential import tax. At present, most of raw materials for textile and garment production in Vietnam is still imported mainly from countries such as China, Korea, India ... That makes textile companies still difficult to expand export markets. Although Vietnam has negotiated and participated in many FTA.
